Ethics and Publication Guidelines

Electronics, Communications, and Computing Summit (ECC Summit)

Published by the Society for Communication and Computer Technologies (SCCT)

At the Society for Communication and Computer Technologies (SCCT), we uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in academic publishing. The Electronics, Communications, and Computing Summit (ECC Summit) is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, and excellence in the peer-review process. All submissions undergo rigorous evaluation by domain experts to ensure the quality and originality of published research.

1. Scientific Committees

The scientific committees of the ECC Summit comprise leading experts in electronics, communications, computing, and allied disciplines. These committees supervise the peer-review process and ensure the ethical evaluation of submitted manuscripts.

To view the current committee members, please refer to the ECC Summit website under “Scientific Committee.”

2. Equality and Editorial Decisions

Manuscript evaluations are conducted solely on the basis of scientific merit, originality, technical soundness, and relevance to the summit's themes. All decisions are made without regard to authors’ race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs. The final decision on acceptance or rejection rests with the Conference Chairs.

3. Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Only editorial staff, reviewers, and committee members directly involved in the evaluation process may access or discuss the manuscript's content. Unauthorized disclosure is strictly prohibited.

4. Conflicts of Interest

Members of the scientific committee and reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest—whether financial, academic, or personal—that may compromise the impartiality of the review. They must refrain from using or sharing the content of any manuscript for personal gain or ongoing research without explicit permission from the authors.

5. Reviewers' Responsibilities

Contribution to Editorial Decision

Reviewers contribute to editorial decisions by providing unbiased, constructive feedback. They play a critical role in ensuring academic rigor through their evaluations.

Timeliness

Reviewers must inform the editorial team promptly if they are unable to complete the review within the specified timeframe.

Confidentiality

Reviewers must not share or discuss any part of the manuscript with unauthorized individuals.

Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism is unacceptable. Reviewers should substantiate their evaluations with evidence and sound reasoning.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers must report instances of plagiarism or significant similarity with previously published work.

Conflict of Interest

Any potential conflicts should be disclosed to the editorial board. Reviewers must recuse themselves if the manuscript poses a conflict due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any author.

6. Authors' Responsibilities

Reporting Standards

Submissions must be accurate, complete, and based on sound methodology. Fabrication, falsification, or omission of data constitutes unethical behavior.

Authorship Criteria

Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must give proper credit to prior work through appropriate citations.

Originality and Plagiarism

All submissions must be original. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is unethical and will result in rejection or retraction.

Data Access and Reproducibility

Authors should be prepared to share data, code, or other materials upon request, provided legal and ethical considerations allow.

Dual Submission and Redundancy

Simultaneous submissions to other conferences or journals are strictly prohibited. Previously published work should not be resubmitted without significant extension and disclosure.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose all funding sources and any financial or personal relationships that may influence the research.

Human and Animal Subjects

If the research involves human or animal participants, authors must confirm that the study was approved by appropriate ethical review boards and conducted in accordance with institutional guidelines. Informed consent must be obtained from human participants.

Hazardous Materials

Authors must clearly identify if the study involves materials, equipment, or procedures that may pose hazards.

Error Reporting and Retractions

If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors are obliged to notify the publisher promptly to issue corrections or retractions as necessary.

7. Publisher Responsibilities

Correction and Retraction Policy

SCCT, in collaboration with the ECC Summit Chairs, addresses reported errors through errata or retractions. Plagiarism or ethical misconduct will lead to formal retraction of the article.

Archiving and Access

All ECC Summit papers are published under an open-access license, ensuring that content remains freely accessible to the global research community. Digital preservation is managed through secure hosting and archival partnerships.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.

8. Ownership and Management

The ECC Summit Proceedings are published annually by the Society for Communication and Computer Technologies (SCCTS). SCCTS is committed to promoting responsible publishing, advancing scientific knowledge, and fostering an inclusive research environment.

Schedule
ECC Summit are published based on the continuous model, meaning papers are published online as soon as they are accepted to ECC Summit  throughout the year.
